Solar-Integrated EV Charging
The real benefit of an EV charger installed alongside solar is the ability to charge directly from your panels. A smart charger can prioritise surplus solar production, only pulling from the grid when solar output is not enough. Paired with a battery, you can charge your car in the evening using solar energy stored during the day.
If you are considering a Sigenergy SigenStor system, EV charging is built in. Their optional 25kW bi-directional DC charger module slots directly into the SigenStor tower, charges your car from stored solar, and supports vehicle-to-home (V2H), meaning your EV battery can feed power back into your house during a blackout or peak tariff period. It is the only residential system in Australia with an integrated DC EV charger at that output.
